Hello – I contacted you a few weeks ago when I heard you on the podcast. I have your book and am 2/3 through it. There are so many parallels with your son and mine that I am, several times, taken aback and thinking – did she really just say that? Did Charles really just do or say that SAME thing as my son Peter? Both liked Eminem. Both loved writing rap. Both had DOC Heroin. Both had some of the most honest lyrics about addiction & mental health I’ve ever seen. Peter was born in 1996 and died 2021, but these boys would have been quite a pair – musically! Here is a song – eerily written a year before Peter was “successful” at suicide, that he posted on FB and YouTube. You will hear some of your son’s pain I am certain. But talent similar…and passion 100%. I’d love to hear what you think. And share more incidental commonalities we share.
