Second Blog Birthday Heart— #griefheart number 275

Happy birthday my blog. Happy birthday my blog.

Even though Emotionally Naked is two years old, in Google years I’m middle aged. The good part about that is that at two years, if you’ve blogged consistently, Google gives you precedence in the search engine world. All week I’ve seen their little bots indexing pages for search like mad. Your stories, my stories have greater potential to reach more people, save lives and offer community and support to those who need it. Without judgment. Without shame.

It was two years ago, that I realized that I needed a space to write to work through my pain of losing my youngest son to suicide as a result of addiction and depression.

822 posts, 2957 comments, 24 pages. All together, here are the 274 #griefhearts at Pinterest. That’s a lot of grief. It has helped me find acceptance of the loss. To heal emotionally. To be able to forgive myself. Some days I don’t want to write. But I make myself. It’s as important as breathing. It’s my rehab and my support group all wrapped up in one. Thank you guys for that. I have needed you.

What is the #griefheart project?

  1. Congratulation on a job well done. You haven’t wasted your pain. You took the unimaginable and did something meaningful and helpful with it. That’s beautiful.

  2. You are inspiring in so many ways. It is difficult to image the strength required to do this day in and day out but your words reach so many in need and change outcomes. Thank you!
