Being together was magic. So maybe you didn’t get a ticket to TEDxGraceStreetWomen. Or maybe you did. This is the after party to extend the fun and camaraderie.
We are going to watch 55 minutes of some of the talks and there will be a panel and then Q & A.
My talk will be screened and I will be on this panel event. If you are in Richmond, VA I hope you can come!
Can we save people who are Googling, “ways to die?”
People Google how to do lots of things– including how to kill themselves. How can we leverage what we know about suicide and the internet to save lives? After my son Charles killed himself, I sold my digital marketing business, started this blog, Emotionally Naked, and used my skills at search engine optimization and content marketing to reach those most in need to help prevent suicide.

It felt freaking great. Someone asked me if I was glad it was over and I said, “No!” I loved that audience, my fellow speakers and I had a grand time. While back stage, we all felt nervous but I stared at the big red dot from the wings and I whispered to my fellow speakers, “We are not nervous, we are excited!” And I believed it.

I’m excited.
And nervous. (That’s where the coping strategies are helpful.)
There is not one single perk in this TEDx process I have missed or going to miss. I love the workshops, getting to know the other speakers, one-on-one coaching, and receiving feedback.
Then still to come, the makeup artist, there’s actual event, walk the block, and the after party. I’m not missing any of it and am focused on enjoying the experience.
