SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) and Beacon Tree will be screening the documentary Resilience at the Family Education Group at Northstar. Following the one hour film there will be a brief discussion along with a Q & A.

Studies show that Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) mean someone is four times more likely to suffer poor health, 7 times likely to suffer alcoholism and drug addiction, and 12 times more likely to die by suicide.

What can we do? How can this knowledge help us understand behavioral health?

About Family Educational Group for Substance Abuse Disorder in Richmond, VA

This is a group focused on educating families on substance abuse disorder (addiction). You will find resources, what to do next and how to use the opioid trainers. These are structured with speakers and topics each week. For anyone with a loved one with an addiction, this is a fantastic group started by area expert, Tom Bannard.
