Social media and suicide

We are consumed with technology. It surrounds us at every corner. We not only cannot tear ourselves away from our cell phones, but simply being away from them causes us stress. After all, most of our lives are stored on that tiny device, from our banking information to the ability to lock your car or front door.

We avoid talking on the phone like it is the plague, I mean after all, why speak when you can communicate via text, so much easier right?

Does childhood trauma cause mental illness?

A close friend asked the other day how I think my trauma has contributed to the variety of mental illnesses I live with which got me to thinking that not only did it contribute to mental health issues, but it started so young that it in fact changed my entire development and personality. I never had a chance to develop properly, especially on the emotional side, because for me, there simply was never a time I wasn’t traumatized.
