She raised two boys, Richard and Charles, and lost her younger son, Charles to addiction and suicide on June 5, 2015.   1. What’s with the weird quotes around “die by suicide”?

    Obviously not your editing decision, and otherwise a good article. It’s nice they interviewed your mom.

    1. My guess is that he wanted to bring attention to it since it’s different from what you usually see. But I did wonder the same thing. And my mom was thrilled to be part of the interview. She has enjoyed a proud momma moment indeed.
