Can you help? Two asks.

I have two sponsorship requests

I have a private sponsor for this. Thank you!

I’d like a sponsor for screening the movie for $350, The Kids We Lose. Virginia leads the way in suspensions and expulsions. Legislation has been passed to curtail our #1 ranking in the US but for it to happen, we need to learn to not use restraints, suspensions, seclusion and instead know the steps of escalating behavior so we can help these youth learn how to regulate their emotions before they escalate to fits of rage.

These kids are the leaders in the school to prison pipeline and it doesn’t have to be that way.

Multiple punitive actions inspires more rages and it doesn’t solve the problem, but instead makes it worse. The result is children who fall into negative coping strategies as teens and adults which results in incarceration, drug addiction, domestic and societal violence and suicide.

The film is a partnership effort with Lives in the Balance. Rules state I can’t sell tickets so I need a sponsor to cover the $350 license fee.

The mission of Lives in the Balance is to provide vital, accessible resources and programs to caregivers of behaviorally challenging kids; to bring the plight of these kids into the public consciousness; to address the systemic issues that cause many of these kids to slip through the cracks; and to promote parenting and disciplinary practices that foster the better side of human nature in all children.

What do you get?

With both sponsor opportunities, at the end I’ll ask which of the participants would like to be included in a “thank you” video that I’ll post here and also share in all of my social media channels: Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram TV.

My sponsors are never disappointed! Ask.

Another Ask

Andrew Couch and Teri Raferty are sponsoring this one. Thank you!

One is a request for funds to give the gift of a case of books to this organization, REAL LIFE. Many of my engagements are bro bono which this one is and I’d like to leave each participant with a book. The $300 is my cost for a case. The funds can be donated to REAL LIFE which is a nonprofit for a tax write off. (Diary of a Broken Mind)

REAL LIFE serves individuals who have been impacted by incarceration, homelessness, or substance use disorder by giving them an opportunity to overcome their personal and community barriers that hinder their pathway to a Thriving Life.

Recap

  • Sponsor a gift of a book to each of the 22 participants at REAL LIFE-DONE. I have two donors! Thank you.
  • Sponsor a screening of the film, The Kids We Lose, to be screened in Richmond, VA. Location unknown thus far.

  1. AM- you are awesome at not only bringing your message into the light but highlighting the others who are boots on the ground.
REAL Life is a great organization. I volunteer at the Richmond City Justice Center and have taken several ladies there when they have gotten out. The REAL has helped them get housing, in addition to addiction and mental health support. They are our go to organization when someone is ready to go into recovery.
