Support button or ads? I chose a button

Ads would commercialize and slow down this site. It’s also tacky for this blog and not the right place for amazon ads or affiliate links either.

Cost per year to run this blog is about $600. Three hundred of that is security. I got hacked three times in a row despite having updated software. So I paid for the protection and a secure slot layer certificate (https). I’m sure you want to hear all about that website jargon.

Other costs include mailchimp for sending out the emails, hosting fees, domain names (I own annemoss.com and emotionallynaked.com) and a couple of paid features on the site.

If, for some crazy reason, I actually exceed that $600, I’ll put funds toward my attending a mental health/conference. There is one I want to attend next year. But more realistically, it will probably just offset my costs.

This payment processor is through Stripe.

  1. I’ve never known the specifics of blog costs, with or without ads. This was very interesting! Thank you for NOT going the ad route (at this time—we’ll give you room to change your mind if you have to!). I’m happy to make a donation to support your amazing work. ❤️

    1. I don’t think I will ever go the ad route. But thank you for your support Amy. I don’t think this will be a big money generator but I thought I would try. Let me know if the button does not work. It did work when I tested it.
