This “hole in my heart” from Ellen who lost her son from an overdose and as a result she and her husband have become advocates and facilitate peer support and outreach to those who have lost a loved one to an overdose.

This is not just suicide awareness month but recovery month as well. This #griefheart in honor of all the moms and dads that have suffered loss from the overdose.

AnneMoss Rogers is a mental health and suicide education expert, mental health speaker, suicide prevention trainer and consultant. She is author of the Book, Diary of a Broken Mind and co-author of Emotionally Naked: A Teacher's Guide to Preventing Suicide and Recognizing Students at Risk with Kim O'Brien PhD, LICSW. She raised two boys, Richard and Charles, and lost her younger son, Charles to addiction and suicide on June 5, 2015. She is a motivational speaker who empowers by educating and provides life saving strategies and emotionally healthy coping skills.   1. “hole in a heart”- exactly what losing a child is like & yes we need each other because that hole can not be filled with a replacement… so fill it with what you can and try to find the joy…. I am trying….
